Wet varnish, oil & stain

What is wet painting?

Wet painting is the industrial application of paint to various surfaces. When wet painting, we apply one or more protective layers to obtain the desired end result. Each layer has its own function, e.g. for adhesion, colour fastness, scratch or UV protection.
The application is done by manual gun sprayers in booths or by an automatic sprayer, rollers or a casting machine.
The possibilities in lacquer are endless; matt, gloss or textured in countless colours.

Besides aesthetic finishes, we are experienced in functional coatings such as fireproof, anti-slip and anti-static finishes: see functional coatings.

Oil

Oil allows us to highlight the natural, unique look of the wood while protecting it from the inside out. The structure and grain of the wood are fully preserved, while you can adjust the colour tone to your desire.

We treat cladding, decking boards and construction timber on three or four sides to ensure proper protection. In this case, we schedule the treatment on our vacuum coater or spraying line.

Brushing out the grain before treatment gives the boards more appearance and emphasises the natural character of the wood.

Stain

Like oil, stain gives the wood protection from the inside. Thanks to its moisture-regulating effect, moisture can no longer penetrate the wood from the outside, but the moisture that is already present in the wood can still escape; thus, stain prevents wood rot. Stain protects the wood longer and better than oil, but sometimes gives a less natural look than oil.

Functional coatings

Fire-retardant treatments

Thanks to the application of a fire-retardant coating, fire resistance can be significantly increased. This enables us to make your product comply with European Standards.

Wood products used outdoors always need additional protection to prevent the applied fire retardant from leaching out of the wood due to the weather and thus causing the wood to lose its fire retardant properties. For such treatment, it is important to study the product and installation thoroughly.

We offer you the necessary support during the various phases of your project and advise you on the treatment required, depending on the product to be treated.

Anti-slip

Applying an additional coating to your floor application not only provides a slip-resistant surface but also serves as an additional protective layer against wear and tear. It is possible to apply an anti-slip coating to virtually any surface, with a wide range of colour options available.

We will be happy to check with you which coating is most suitable depending on the type of substrate (wood, plastic, metal, etc.), the environment (UV, chemicals, etc.) and the purpose of the coating (heavy traffic, hygienic environment, etc.).

Anti-static

The function of an anti-static paint is to prevent or reduce the build-up and accumulation of static electricity on surfaces. Static electricity can occur when two materials with different electrical conductivities come into contact and are separated again. This can occur in various industries and applications, such as electronics, graphics, or cleanrooms, for example. By applying an anti-static lacquer to surfaces, the possibility of electrical charge retention is reduced. This is especially important in situations where static discharge can cause damage to sensitive electronic components, such as when manufacturing and handling electronic devices. Anti-static lacquers can also be used in environments where the risk of electrostatic discharge can be dangerous, for example near flammable materials or in explosive environments. In general, anti-static lacquers help reduce the risk of unwanted electrical charge and the potential damage it can cause.

Besides lacquering, we can print any design or photo on your raw or coated products such as interior doors, floors, garage doors, exhibition stands, table tops, acoustic panels, clickwall, etc... The possibilities are endless!
